Tampa Bay Blueberry Festival – April 30 and May 1 – Part 2

by Nicole Lee

The rest of the day was spent eating, drinking, walking and talking. We had some Bud Light to cleanse our palettes after all of the sickeningly sweet wines that we drank at the tasting (that makes them sound awful but the weren’t, it was just after 10 different Sangria-ish drinks I couldn’t take any more).

We also had a REVELATION! You remember the soup challenge debacle? Well, as we were browsing the stands of the Blueberry Festival we happened upon this:

THAT is a ghost pepper. The one that effed my poor tummy so badly I wanted to die. The women that were selling them said not only do they grow them, but they are the ones that supply Nitally’s! She also said the way they cook these things for the challenge makes them impossible to eat. So I ate this little guy and IT WAS DELICIOUS! I feel so much better about my ability to eat deliciously spicy foods. If you do want to check out the owners of St. Pete Heat their website is pretty neat and they deliver. So yeah. A revolutionary Sunday filled with everything I love. Booze, chilies and the best boyfriend in the world. Oh happy days. :)
